We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Finance and Analytics team at Amazon. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, including data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. They will also have a solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines, as well as experience with TM1/Planning Analytics.

As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with our cross-functional team of software engineers, application engineers, data engineers, and product managers to design and deliver complex technical systems. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our data infrastructure, including data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering complex technical systems, with a focus on innovation, creativity, and problem-solving. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused, professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure, including data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines
  • Develop and maintain TM1/Planning Analytics systems
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver complex technical systems
  • Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines
  • Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and product managers to design and deliver data-driven solutions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience in modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines
  • Experience with TM1/Planning Analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused, professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
  • Working experience with TM1Py, REST API
  • Experience with design & delivery of formal training curriculum and programs
  • Project management, scoping, reporting, and scheduling experience a plus
