Key Responsibilities :
Conduct on-site clinics and rounds, and ensure progress note documentation is in SOAP format and adheres to the established formulary.
Respond to emergency situations and provide emergency treatment on-site.
Support standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures, and assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions.
Qualifications & Requirements :
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program are required. Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience are preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment and current CPR certification.

How you make a difference :
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive medical services for inmates, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, state guidelines, and practice standards. They document all services provided to monitor clinical services and report any schedule changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. They also assist in arranging coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period.
