Role SummaryThe Information Security Analyst 3 will engage in various technology initiatives focused on safeguarding information and cybersecurity. This role involves assisting in the formulation and enforcement of security policies and procedures, ensuring that security awareness and training programs are effectively implemented. The analyst will collaborate with the security team and relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Execute tasks aimed at ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's systems and information assets.
- Establish confidentiality protocols to prevent unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of data, while contributing to the development of IT security policies and standards.
- Formulate and uphold the organization's security policies and procedures, security awareness initiatives, and compliance with industry and governmental regulations.
- Engage with end users to assess the needs of various divisions and departments within the organization.
- Conduct risk management assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures to mitigate potential losses.
- Participate in training and statewide initiatives on security standards and best practices, serving as a key security subject matter expert.
- Continuously monitor the organization's infrastructure and systems for security threats, managing various security programs and regulating access to protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT managers, and vendors to ensure effective coordination of security services that align with organizational objectives.
- Generate reports on the status of information security programs and projects, communicating findings to senior management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security standards, system security plans, and best practices in security operations.
- Report directly to the Information Security Team regarding the organization's security posture and assist in investigations and threat assessments.
- Support various Information Security tools and programs.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information assurance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in information technology, with at least 2 years in information security or assurance.
- Hands-on experience with at least two or more security technologies, such as Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Email Security, EDR, MFA, SIEM, IPS, and Firewalls.
- One or more current industry certifications relevant to the position, such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, C-RISC, CISA, SANS, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies, including FireEye (Trellix), Nessus, Splunk, SolarWinds, Varonis, GRC tools, CrowdStrike Falcon, and LogRhythm.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Technical expertise in endpoint security, VPN, Firewall, network monitoring, intrusion detection, web server security, and wireless security.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to identify potential threats.
- Experience with IRS Publication 1075, NIST guidelines, and other relevant frameworks.
- Progressive experience in incident response, technical support, cybersecurity, and data encryption techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
