Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Sheetfed First Press Operator to join our team. This role offers a competitive starting wage of $25 or more per hour, commensurate with experience. We have multiple shifts available, including options for flexibility based on production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation for Operation: Review job ticket details and configure the offset press machine according to the specified substrate, ink, and plate requirements. Communicate essential job information to support staff to ensure readiness for production.
- Press Operation: Operate the assigned sheetfed press in compliance with company safety standards, ensuring that printed products meet customer specifications. Continuously monitor supply levels and replenish materials as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks throughout the printing process, completing quality checklists to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Maintenance Duties: Observe machine operations and make necessary adjustments during production. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment as needed.
- Line Clearance: Maintain a clean work area by removing all products, waste, and supplies associated with completed orders.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Sheetfed Operator within the printing or packaging industry. Familiarity with Heidelberg XL 105 or 106 presses is preferred. A solid understanding of color theory and the ability to pass a color assessment is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously and up to 50 pounds occasionally, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Flexibility to work 8-hour shifts, including overtime and holidays, is necessary.
