Job Summary

This is a key entry-level position within our manufacturing facility, producing high-quality food products for our customers. As a Sanitation Technician Night Shift, you will be responsible for performing various tasks involved in the cleaning and sanitizing of the entire facility. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to quality standards, and working efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize all production areas, including pre-scale, freezers, packaging areas, and equipment.
  • Assist in equipment breakdown and preparation for sanitation, and assembly.
  • Scrape, sweep, and wash floors using high-pressure cleaning equipment.
  • Scour and sanitize walls, floors, curtains, tables, equipment, and conveyors.
  • Remove trash and other debris from the facility.
  • Cover equipment when not in use.
  • Clean office areas, maintain clean carpets and floors.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms.
  • Evaluate hazards, verify measures, and procedures to achieve a safe work environment.
  • Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Reasoning ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read work documents in English.
  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Good understanding of plant quality requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of GMPs.
  • Good attendance and work history.
  • Strong team mentality.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration.
  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds, utilize fine dexterity, and reach, kneel, crawl, and twist on a daily basis.
  • Bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection, and any other personal protective equipment will be provided.
