Position Summary:

The Licensed Medication Aide is responsible for coordinating and administering medications to residents in a nursing facility while providing oversight and guidance to clinical staff.

Qualifications: Licenses/Certification:
  • Valid Medication Technician certification in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
Experience:
  • Preferred one year of experience in nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Document residents' conditions and nursing requirements.
  • Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff and CNAs.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required by company and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
  • Assist physicians with special tests and procedures as permitted by state regulations.
  • Ensure economical use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe condition.
  • Report and document significant observations and reactions concerning residents.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, and all organizational levels.
  • Ability to respond decisively in emergency situations.
