Position Summary:The Licensed Medication Aide is responsible for coordinating and administering medications to residents in a nursing facility while providing oversight and guidance to clinical staff.
Qualifications: Licenses/Certification:- Valid Medication Technician certification in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
- Preferred one year of experience in nursing.
- Document residents' conditions and nursing requirements.
- Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff and CNAs.
- Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required by company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures as permitted by state regulations.
- Ensure economical use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe condition.
- Report and document significant observations and reactions concerning residents.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Ability to lead and motivate team members.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and all organizational levels.
- Ability to respond decisively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of training methods for clinical staff.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
