Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Registered Nurse II, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain competency records for clinical knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
- Stay up-to-date with current treatment guidelines and best practices in nursing care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles of adult learning and current treatment for tuberculosis.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and state and federal regulations pertaining to healthcare and accreditation standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly and positively with patients and staff.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to lift approximately 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
