Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach security-related courses in the Computer Technologies department at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach security courses, including those with the prefixes NET, NOS, and SEC, to students in the Computer Technologies department.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Networking Technology or a related field.
  • At least three years of documented work experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting in an operating system environment.
  • Industry-recognized certification such as Security+.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, or a related field.
  • CISSP or other high-level security certification.

  • Official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution are required to be received a minimum of two business weeks before the first day of work.
  • This position is for traditional classes taught on campus or satellite locations within Buncombe or Madison County.
