Minimum Experience Required:

Patient Demographics:
Adults presenting with diverse medical conditions such as congestive heart failure, acute renal failure, hepatitis, end-stage liver disease, diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, pneumonia, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, substance overdose, and delirium tremens.
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
RN:
PCU/Telemetry - 1:4 (Day and Night Shifts)
Essential Certifications:
Registered Nurse (PCU & Telemetry): Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Educational Requirements:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program; Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Telemetry RN Responsibilities:
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, intravenous initiation, blood product administration, CIWA assessments, management of drains/tubes, catheter insertion and management, insulin drip administration (non-DKA), continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tube care. Strong verbal and written communication skills, comprehensive physical assessments, sound clinical judgment, professional bedside manner, teamwork orientation, positive demeanor, and adaptability are essential.
