Fence Installer

Carter Fence Company Inc is seeking a skilled Fence Installer/Driver to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fences for our clients.

• Driver: Safely transport crews and materials to and from job sites, adhering to all driving rules and regulations.
• Laborer: Assist in the installation and maintenance of fences, including digging postholes, setting posts, and attaching fencing to frames.
• Measure and lay out fence lines, mark posthole positions, and dig postholes using spades, posthole diggers, or power-driven augers.
• Mix and pour concrete around bases of posts, or tamp soil postholes to embed posts.
• Nail top and bottom rails to fence posts, or insert them in slots on posts.
• Stretch wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts, and attach fencing to frames.
• Assemble gates, and fasten gates into position, using hand tools.
• Insert metal tubing through rail supports, and complete top fence rails of metal fences by connecting tube sections, using metal sleeves.
• Attach rails or tension wire along bottoms of posts to form fencing frames, and nail pointed slats to rails to construct picket fences.
• Erect alternate panel, basket weave, and louvered fence.
• Determine the type of tools needed for a job, and check in/out of job sites, documenting hours per job.
• Report any concerns or problems on job site.

• Valid driver license for a minimum of 3 years.
• A good standing driving record.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
• Lift, bend, twist, kneel, stand, walk for duration of shift.
• Able to work in extreme outdoor environments (i.e. wet, cold, humid, hot).
• Ability to use simple math for calculations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
