Job Title: Court Security Officer

Walden Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Security Officer to join our team. As a Court Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform entrance control, enforcing the District's entry and identification system, and operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items.
  • Perform roving patrol, patrolling court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.
  • Perform stationary post assignments, standing guard at stationary posts, monitoring closed-circuit television, duress alarm systems, and other security equipment.
  • Perform escort duties, providing armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals.
  • Enforce law and order, detaining any person attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property or attempting to commit acts that imperil the safety and security of Government employees, property, and the public.
  • Prepare reports and records regarding contract performance issues, such as labor hours worked, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts that occurred within the court facility area.
  • Preserve order, providing security presence in the courtroom, enforcing federal law and judicial orders within the courtroom, and enforcing local court rules regarding prohibited items.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency.
  • Must have a valid driver's license from the state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years.
  • Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice.
  • Must have completed or graduated from a certified Federal, state, county, local, or military law enforcement training academy and be able to provide certification as proof.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Must meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS). The physical demands are based on the contract and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
