Job Title: Special Professor of Biology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Special Professor of Biology to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Special Professor, you will be responsible for teaching introductory biology and microbiology courses to undergraduate students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach introductory biology and microbiology courses to undergraduate students
  • Collaborate with other instructors to review, improve, and maintain the curriculum for these courses
  • Provide one office hour per week for every three contact hours assigned
  • Be available for students and participate in weekly instructors' meetings
Requirements:
  • PhD in biology or a closely related discipline
  • Experience teaching undergraduate biology courses
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior teaching experience as instructor of record for lecture and laboratory introductory biology courses
  • Prior teaching or research experience in microbiology
  • Experience or openness to collaborating in a coordinated teaching environment for multiple sections courses
  • Prior training in or use of active-learning and student-centered learning techniques
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $80,000-$84,000
