Job Summary

The Radiology Navigation Specialist will perform X-ray procedures, including fluoroscopic procedures, under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures. This role is responsible for patient care, proper operation of diagnostic and surgical navigation equipment, and maintaining equipment to ensure its availability. The specialist will also support surgical navigation procedures, assist surgeons during cases with navigation equipment, and facilitate room integration with surgical suite in room technology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services and implementing actions as appropriate.
  2. Provide accurate preparation instructions to patients and caregivers, answer procedural questions, and coordinate and resolve medical imaging patient issues.
  3. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety, and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment.
  4. Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction, and documentation.
  5. Operate hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval.
  6. Assist OR with scheduling of navigation procedures to ensure support needs can be met.
  7. Ensure proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.
  8. Provide real-time feedback and troubleshooting of equipment and issues dealing with surgical navigation and room integration.
  9. Support both medical staff and administrative staff in equipment utilization and upgrade/purchasing.

Qualifications
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible, obtained within 1st year of employment.
  • Appropriate State Licensure (NJ, DE) obtained within 90 days of start date.
