Culinary Instruction Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Culinary Arts Instructor to deliver a diverse range of courses in Culinary Arts. The instructor will play a crucial role in equipping students with the essential skills required for successful careers in the food service industry.

This role is part-time and compensated on an hourly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver classes according to the academic calendar and established syllabi.
• Conduct all scheduled class sessions for the complete duration.
• Maintain precise records of student grades and attendance in accordance with institutional protocols.
• Enhance students' employability by teaching industry expectations and assisting them in developing career portfolios, certificates, and resumes.
• Participate in departmental orientation sessions at the start of each semester.
• Utilize appropriate educational technology, including the institution's learning management system, to effectively fulfill teaching responsibilities (training will be provided).
• Communicate regularly with the institution, department, and students through the designated email and LMS.
• Prepare students for entry-level positions in the food service sector, including roles as chef assistants and front-of-house staff.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, Restaurant Management, or a related discipline.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the food service industry to effectively teach Culinary Arts.
• Experience in teaching adult learners is advantageous.
• Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• A minimum of five years of professional experience as a chef or sous chef.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard is a plus, though training will be provided.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a background check.
