Job Title: Stationary Engineer - Mechanical Systems Expert

Location: Department of Developmental Services - Headquarters

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical systems in our state hospital, institution, or large office building.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems.
  • Under the direction of the Engineer II, instruct or lead other engineers, resident workers, and do related work.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time worked, materials used, and any problems encountered.
Requirements:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
