Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Maintenance & Mfg Engineering Department, you will provide technical support to enable the team to independently carry out daily responsibilities and integrate all phases of electronic/automated equipment installation, updates, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support by monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, automated systems, and robotics systems.
  • Coordinate efforts and implement proper processes and procedures to resolve problems.
  • Update equipment, solve mechanical problems, and give direction for proper repairs in support of the Maintenance Department.
  • Support new equipment launches and retrofits of existing production work cells.
  • Contribute to Maintenance & Equipment Engineering Department objectives.
  • Review engineering specifications and designs of new equipment and/or redesign of existing equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes.
  • Assign tasks and train production and/or maintenance staff.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of the Maintenance Department.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline plus significant amount of related work experience; or completion of apprenticeship as mechanic or electrician (i.e. journeyman card) and five years experience which includes advanced electronics/programming; or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility.
  • At minimum basic programming for Allen Bradley.
  • Ability to modify vision sensor programs.
  • Ability to navigate PLC & HMI software, connect to machines, and troubleshoot.
  • At minimum Robot Studio level 1.

  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged standing at least 8 hours, but up to 12 hours per day.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds multiple times per hour.
  • Repetitive bending, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Repetitive use of hands, including gripping, grasping, pinching, squeezing.
