As a member of the Quality Management Office (QMO) at Micron, your role as a Quality Assurance Specialist will involve preparing, facilitating, and executing both internal and external quality assessments.
You will collaborate with external stakeholders and departmental leaders to establish timelines, review documentation and procedures, collect and analyze quality-related information, and compile and present findings. A solid understanding of quality systems, methodologies, and processes is essential for conducting audits or providing guidance and consultation to clients.
Additional responsibilities may include maintaining quality systems, contributing to enhancement initiatives, and assisting customers or activities aimed at resolving non-conformities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Audit Objectives and Schedule: Assist in creating and maintaining the Internal Audit Schedule (System, Process, and Product Audits).
- Collect information from production, service, development, and support functions.
- Evaluate departmental quality systems and historical audit data from various sources. As Lead Auditor, aid in team selection and audit planning.
- Represent the audit team in discussions with management of the audited area.
- Execute Quality Audits.
- Conduct scheduled and periodic internal quality system evaluations.
- Perform value-added assessments focusing on events impacting the organization (e.g., CESS, QUAL failures).
- Gather pertinent information from personnel regarding the implementation, execution, and outcomes of processes and systems.
- Identify non-conformities that necessitate corrective actions, strengths, and areas for improvement. Analyze findings and create summary presentations.
- Facilitate closing meetings to discuss and interpret results with management.
- Compile and distribute a formal report detailing audit outcomes.
- Follow up on audits to ensure the implementation of solutions/corrective actions. Initiate measures to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of non-conformities.
- Assist in determining corrective actions and fostering continuous improvement.
- Support External Audits (ISO Registrar, Customer): Respond to auditor inquiries, coordinate audit schedules and logistics, prepare participants and areas for audits, conduct tours, and manage post-audit follow-ups.
- Enhance the Quality Management System: Maintain and improve the quality management system through assessments and sharing best practices.
- Participate in quality enhancement projects.
- Provide access to standards and documentation.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Micron's Quality Manual and internal procedures. Update QMS to align with current system requirements.
- Provide Customer Support: Communicate assessment findings with stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding.
- Consult with company or department representatives regarding quality standards.
- Develop and refine audit skills through conducting internal audits.
- Stay informed about relevant requirements based on internal changes in process/product technology and external updates (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF16949, core tools, and customer specifications).
