Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the well-being of our residents.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care to individuals in designated units, maintaining acute medical issues, and managing medications and procedures according to pharmacy and nursing procedure guidelines. The successful candidate will also be responsible for actively documenting and participating in the rehabilitation programs of individuals, functioning as the health care coordinator of assigned units, and providing guidance and developing nursing staff to ensure quality activity, care, and treatment for all individuals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to individuals in designated units
  • Maintain acute medical issues and manage medications and procedures
  • Actively document and participate in rehabilitation programs
  • Function as the health care coordinator of assigned units
  • Provide guidance and develop nursing staff
  • Assess needs of individuals and identify obvious symptoms of physical or emotional illness
  • Formulate and execute a plan of care and evaluate outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on the integration of the nursing care plan in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina
  • Knowledge of the techniques and practices of the nursing profession
  • Ability to adhere to standing orders, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
  • Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of individuals
  • Ability to interact with individuals in a culturally competent and professional manner
