We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team for an exciting 13-week assignment at a well-established hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare setting where your expertise will directly contribute to patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Order Verification: Review and verify inpatient medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with established protocols.
  • Pharmacokinetics Monitoring: Monitor and adjust dosages based on patient-specific factors and laboratory results to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide expert guidance on medication management and therapy optimization.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians to ensure high-quality service and adherence to best practices in medication handling and administration.
  • Consultation: Offer expert consultation on drug interactions, side effects, dosing adjustments, and any other medication-related concerns to enhance patient care.
  • Patient Safety: Ensure that all medications are dispensed in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, prioritizing patient safety.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, are also essential. A detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on patient safety and care quality is required.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
