Electrical Power Systems Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Phoenix, Arizona. As a key member of our team, you will utilize your technical expertise to collaborate with our experienced professionals, providing technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding design to support projects for the West Region of our Resilience Water Business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on medium and low-voltage power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding for water/wastewater projects.
  • Develop project/task scopes, schedules, and budget for new projects.
  • Coordinate with our Control Systems and Process Mechanical groups.
  • Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
  • Perform engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs.
  • Conduct field inspections, oversee projects in construction, and monitor safety compliance.
  • Perform system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.
Requirements
  • 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an emphasis on power.
  • Professional Engineering License in Arizona or ability to obtain reciprocity in 6 months.
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Arcadis offers benefits for full-time and part-time positions, including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional benefits, such as wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $174,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
