Store Clerk

Location: Lufkin Corps, Lufkin, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Store Clerk to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. As a Store Clerk, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and pricing donated items, as well as assisting customers with their purchases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect donated items, sorting them according to category and condition.
• Select items suitable for store display and distribute them to the appropriate area for further sorting and/or pricing.
• Tag items with specially coded tickets and/or prices in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist customers with their purchases, operating a cash register and handling sales transactions.
• Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area, ensuring that forms, bags, and other supplies are adequately stocked.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail or warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to operate a cash register and perform routine mathematical computations.
• Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
