Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Program Assistant to join our team at the City of Jacksonville, North Carolina. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will play a vital role in providing fun and engaging recreational opportunities for school-aged children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation and services at a recreation center, including planning and supervising special events, activities, and participants.
  • Prepare and maintain records and files, including reservation and attendance records.
  • Supervise the daily maintenance and security of the center, facilities, and equipment.
  • Transport program participants on field trips, shopping excursions, and other activities.
  • Provide information to participants and citizens concerning upcoming activities.
Requirements
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and 6 months to 2 years experience in organized recreational programs.
  • May require possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time non-benefited position, working up to 25 hours per week. Hours are generally Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with occasional early morning shifts.
