Staff Pharmacist

The Staff Pharmacist (On-Site PV2) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication dispensing. This position is responsible for verifying prescriptions and pharmaceutical supplies to meet the high standards of SelectRx.

• Operate within professional standards and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Process prescriptions to meet SelectRx objectives while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Verify prescription and health-related product orders in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
• Implement and maintain policies and procedures of the Pharmacy Department.
• Comply with professional practices and manage hourly pharmacy associates.
• Ensure prompt and courteous customer service by all pharmacy associates.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring profitable operations of the Pharmacy Department.
• Implement audit and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with SelectRx and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and interpret prescriptions.
• Accurately and efficiently perform initial verification of prescriptions into the SelectRx pharmacy operating system.
• Receive new prescription orders orally from prescribers or other authorized individuals.
• Monitor drug therapy of patients and recognize significant drug interactions.
• Responsible for all activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and risk-free performance.
• Consult with patients or their agents regarding prescriptions or medical information.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with the medical community served by SelectRx.
• Treat patients/clients with respect and courtesy, respecting their rights to confidentiality and working cooperatively with other staff members.

• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the general public.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

• B.S. degree or Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Knowledge and understanding of PioneerRx clinical software system.
• Required to hold or be willing to obtain a license by the State Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy in the state working in.

Work is performed indoors with potential exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Periodic travel to other office and operational sites may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer.
