Program Facilitator - Youth Development

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities is seeking a skilled Program Facilitator to join our team. As a Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and delivering high-quality programming for our matches (adult mentors and youth mentees). Your focus will be on the personal, social, cultural, and educational development of elementary and middle school youth at various schools and corporate sites across the Twin Cities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate biweekly youth programming (45-minute sessions) at a corporate worksite mentoring program, using established session plans.
  • Lead setup, delivery, and cleanup of program areas.
  • Review and adapt established session plans in preparation for facilitation of youth programming.
  • Participate in short training sessions to become familiar with requirements for each session.
  • Support experiences that foster a sense of purpose, community, connection, and safety.
  • Positively represent BBBS with program partners and program participants.
  • Track attendance and program progress and communicate any participant needs, concerns, feedback, and progress to the supervisor.
  • Apply child safety and risk management practices proficiently, including acting as a mandated reporter.
  • Implement conflict resolution interventions as needed.
  • Support program orientation for new participants at various sites.
  • Pick up program materials to utilize during programming.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in social services, youth work, education, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience facilitating youth programming.
  • Knowledge of youth development and past experience supporting youth development and related programming is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and establish boundaries.
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse youth and families.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate professionally with external constituents.
  • Ability to proactively solve problems and resolve conflicts with volunteers, youth, and program site professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently to meet job expectations.
