Resource Teacher Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Resource Teacher Assistant to join our team at Dallas County. The successful candidate will provide instructional support to students in resource classrooms, including orientation, in-school suspension, physical education, and special education.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise students in resource classrooms and assist teachers in ensuring established lesson plans, activities, materials, and equipment are provided to students.
- Assist in tutoring instructional subjects to students through the use of classroom materials according to established Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers on student IEPs, monitor student comprehension and progress, and notify teachers in the event further modifications are necessary.
- Record data and manage physical and computerized files of student records.
- Communicate and resolve instructional materials needs through program management, maintain inventory of learning materials, and ensure the classroom is clean and orderly.
- Administer formal and informal testing to evaluate student success.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
- Four (4) years of educational or behavioral related work experience or 60 hours of college credit or a combination of the two.
- Highly skilled in classroom management and group dynamics techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public.
The incumbent may be required to work in a 24-hour facility, which may involve working mandatory overtime or remaining on duty and working all or part of an additional shift (double shift). The incumbent may also be considered essential personnel subject to being held over or called back to a work location or alternate site at all times.
