Position Overview:

Hexagon Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer for Autonomous Site Systems Validation and Verification to enhance our innovative team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our autonomous site systems, which integrate various Hexagon products, are effectively upgraded and deployed to facilitate seamless site-level autonomous operations. The Senior Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering for By-Wire and Autonomous Systems and will play a crucial role in establishing, coordinating, and ensuring timely execution of validation and verification (V&V) activities across diverse autonomous product development teams globally.

Global Coordination: Hexagon operates on a worldwide scale, and this position will involve collaboration with teams across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement validation and verification strategies to ensure the functionality of all Hexagon products within the autonomous site system.
  • Create comprehensive validation and verification plans for features requiring integration among multiple products.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions with product V&V teams to align on a unified V&V strategy, including test ownership, resource allocation, test locations, and test types (HIL, SIL, On Vehicle, Engineering Bench, etc.).
  • Contribute to V&V strategies and plans to meet customer requirements effectively.
  • Support regulatory compliance and robustness testing strategies across product V&V teams.
  • Incorporate functional safety testing requirements into the overall V&V strategy for autonomous site systems.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and communicate the progress of V&V execution plans to project management and leadership.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% for various testing locations.
  • Influence the overall testing strategy by defining system test requirements.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the project team regarding validation status.
  • Develop and execute both manual and automated test scripts.
  • Analyze test results and recommend design or process modifications as necessary.
  • Generate reports to assure that all critical aspects have been thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Maintain documentation for validation activities, including procedures and policies.
  • Conduct validation studies independently with minimal supervision.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment needs for validation/testing.
  • Adapt to a dynamic and flexible work environment.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in an engineering-related field, particularly in product Verification and Validation.

Key Success Factors:

  • Proven experience in writing detailed technical test plans based on requirements (Verification) and establishing test plans to ensure products meet their intended purpose (Validation).
  • A creative and open-minded approach that encourages idea sharing.
  • Strong business acumen and effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to create and implement repeatable processes and procedures.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience with V&V activities for autonomous site systems and vehicles.
  • Experience leading V&V teams in the context of autonomous products.
  • Hands-on experience with V&V testing tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic motor actuation V&V activities.
  • Experience in leading design initiatives for tools used in V&V activities.
