We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Seasonal Bakery Clerk to join our team at Northgate Markets. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the bakery in an efficient manner, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment, adhering to company standards and health regulations.
  • Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise, checking products for quality and accuracy.
  • Rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to store policy, ensuring that products are used in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and package products for sale, including wrapping, pricing, and displaying merchandise in an attractive manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues as needed and maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, reporting any incidents or concerns to management.

**Requirements and Conditions:**

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in full bakery operations and procedures.
  • Health department training required.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.

**Physical Demands and Work Conditions:**

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds carrying bulk containers of flour, sugar, lard and other materials.
  • Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
