About the Role
Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team as an Ambulatory Pharmacy Professional. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all state and federal regulations and Medical Center policies and procedures relating to drug dispensing, including appropriate handling of drug products, adherence to security procedures, and completion of necessary documentation.
- Review and dispense prescriptions, clarifying any potential problems with prescribing physicians.
- Monitor patient drug therapy regimens for allergies, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, and potential adverse reactions.
- Perform unit inspections to ensure proper maintenance and storage of medication supplies, including emergency drug supplies.
- Oversee the activities of ancillary personnel, including Pharmacy Technicians and Couriers.
- Employ principles of safe medication practice as dictated by departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs, communicating effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers.
- Adhere to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS degree in Pharmacy.
- Registered Pharmacist License.
