Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Gulf Shores Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering medications as ordered by physicians and under the supervision of licensed nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer oral and topical medications to residents as ordered by physicians
  • Perform tasks as ordered by physicians, under the supervision of licensed nurses, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations, and consistent with facility policies
  • Answer call lights promptly to determine resident needs
  • Provide support to assist residents with activities of daily living
  • Take and record vital signs as directed by medical or nursing staff
  • Makes routine rounds on assigned residents in accordance with established procedures
  • Promptly communicates any significant changes in behavior or condition to supervisor
Requirements
  • State certification as a nursing assistant is required
  • State approved medication administration certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nursing assistant
  • Highly developed observation skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills needed
  • Ability to read medication labels, etc.
