Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Telemetry Technician to join our team at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. As a key member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for monitoring electrocardiogram and SPO2 measurements for designated patients and informing the RN of changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, including electrocardiogram and SPO2 measurements
  • Inform the RN of any changes or abnormalities in patient condition
  • Maintain and check monitoring equipment daily
  • Work as a part of the patient care team to maintain organization within the clinical station
  • Answer telephones and patient call lights promptly
  • Assist patients, hospital visitors, and members of the healthcare team
  • Perform some clerical functions, including organizing the clinical station and tracking equipment inventory
  • Notify the Charge Nurse of new admits and maintain the census record
  • Participate in Swap Shifts to ensure skill competency
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of basic arrhythmia course (ECG certification) and ECG test required
  • Recent experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician - Clerical Coordinator in an acute healthcare environment preferred
  • Completion of a Clerical Coordinator course including medical terminology preferred
Benefits

Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem positions are available. Benefits eligible for Full-Time and Part-Time positions. Schedule includes 12-hour shifts, primarily nights, with other shifts available.
