Job Title: Staff Nurse - Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Wound Care team at Penn State Health. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting healing and recovery.

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse - Wound Care Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and establishing standards of nursing practice for the care and management of both pediatric and adult ostomy care and skin and wound management. This role will serve as a consultant, educator, clinician, and change agent for the staff and patients with ostomies, skin, or wound management problems in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical expertise and establish standards of nursing practice for the care and management of both pediatric and adult ostomy care and skin and wound management.
  • Serve as a consultant, educator, clinician, and change agent for the staff and patients with ostomies, skin, or wound management problems in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex wound and ostomy needs.
  • Conduct wound and ostomy assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families on wound and ostomy care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practices in wound and ostomy care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Two (2) years experience in nursing required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited school for Enterostomal Therapy or currently enrolled in an accredited school for Enterostomal Therapy with completion within two (2) years of hire required.
