Case Manager

This Case Manager - Public Assistance and Workforce Development position is available with Union County, OH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interviewing public assistance applicants to determine their eligibility for agency programs and services, conducting initial interviews and assessments of clients for various workforce development programs, and contacting employers to solicit employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Interviews public assistance applicants to determine their eligibility for agency programs and services
• Conducts initial interviews and assessments of clients for various workforce development programs
• Contacts employers to solicit employment opportunities
• Maintains communication with ongoing public assistance clients to determine their continued eligibility for public assistance
• Processes and investigates public assistance overpayments and under-issuances
Requirements
This position requires a strong understanding of public assistance programs and services, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
An Associate degree or higher in human services, behavioral or social science, education or related field is preferred. Alternatively, education or experience in interviewing techniques, business math, case preparation techniques, business writing, customer service techniques and computer technology is also acceptable. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and a valid Ohio driver's license.
Working Conditions
This role involves working in an office environment and may require occasional travel to work sites. The employee will have exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment, contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons, and hazardous driving conditions.
