Position Overview:

The CNC Programmer plays a crucial role in crafting CNC programs and establishing manufacturing work/setup instructions. This position also entails providing support for manufacturing processes and driving improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Offer guidance in product design, enhance manufacturing processes, and support the development of capital equipment.
  • CNC Programming: Analyze engineering drawings and generate CNC programs utilizing CAD/CAM software or manual techniques. Maintain and revise existing CNC programs.
  • Manufacturing Support: Aid the manufacturing team with CNC machinery, including mills and lathes. Evaluate inspection/CMM data and suggest necessary adjustments.
  • Tooling and Gaging: Identify tooling needs for efficient production, whether by utilizing current tools, acquiring new ones, or creating custom solutions.
  • Documentation: Develop and revise work and setup instructions to streamline manufacturing processes. Assist in formulating inspection methods to guarantee parts meet specifications.
  • Collaboration: Engage with quality control, production, materials, and manufacturing teams for technical assistance. Consult with engineers for specialized knowledge.
  • Record Management: Oversee documentation using tools like Teamcenter, including CNC programs, setup and work instructions, inspection methods, and program approvals.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to utilize personal protective equipment (e.g., earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes). Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Engage in physical activities such as reaching, climbing, and bending. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and moderate to heavy noise.
  • Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years in programming multi-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes. Proficiency with Siemens NX is preferred, but experience with other systems will also be considered. Additional Skills: Extensive knowledge of tooling for complex machining operations. Strong background in machining and metalworking. Familiarity with Mazak, Hermle, and Okuma CNC equipment is advantageous.
