Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Knute Nelson. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Transcribe new orders on medication records and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide wound care, administer oxygen, and perform other treatments as ordered.
  • Monitor and provide work direction to Nursing Assistants/Registered (NA/R), ensuring proper care and support.
  • Assist with resident cares, follow up with residents and NA/R to ensure proper care, and provide leadership and guidance in all aspects of NA/R's performance.
  • Understand and implement resident plans of care, recognizing changes in resident condition and documenting observations and reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Respond to STAT calls, administer CPR, oxygen, and other life-saving measures as required, and follow resident plans of care instructions regarding DNR, DNI, and DNT.
Requirements
  • Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Minnesota.
  • Must obtain CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Must complete and pass a state-required background study.
  • Must maintain own educational competency.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, ability to work with diverse residents/patients, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience working with the elderly in long-term care, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
