Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team at JAG Physical Therapy in Long Island, NY.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training and be licensed by the State of New York as an Athletic Trainer. A commitment to ongoing education and patient care is essential for this role.

Job Description:

This position requires providing athletic training services and administrative support to various organizations, ensuring compliance with state regulations and national standards. Key responsibilities include managing the medical and risk needs of athletes during events, offering preventive and emergency care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for documenting injury, illness, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., in adherence with JAG Athletic Training policy, contracted site policy, and state of licensure professional practice standards.

A strong ability to communicate effectively with athletes, families, and other stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide AT services for athletic events and competition
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement the medical and risk management of all athletes, inclusive of preventative care (taping, bracing, etc.) and emergency care (CPR, first aid, etc.)
  • Document injuries, illnesses, treatments, and rehabilitations in accordance with JAG policies and state regulations
  • Collaborate with other JAG professionals, including physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care to athletes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-approved program
  • Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of New York
  • Current BLS certification
  • Personal liability insurance
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to fluid situations
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for continuing education.
