The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who possesses the expertise necessary to provide nursing care. This role requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to care for individuals and groups. The RN applies principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring it is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate.
We are looking for a dedicated Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our outpatient services team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care coordination and possess strong collaborative skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate patient care before and after interventional procedures, ensuring a smooth experience. Collaborate with interventional radiologists and other healthcare professionals to create and execute personalized care plans. Offer pre-procedure education and support to patients and their families, addressing inquiries and concerns with empathy and clarity.
Patient Engagement:
Communicate effectively with patients according to their developmental stage. Understand growth and development milestones and provide clear instructions regarding treatment. Involve family members in the assessment and ongoing care of the patient. Recognize physical limitations and implement necessary interventions. Respond appropriately to patients and families experiencing behavioral health challenges.
Assessment:
Demonstrate clinical skills to accurately assess the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of patients. Maintain knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial functions. Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and initiate referrals as needed based on patient evaluations. Continuously monitor patient safety and report any changes in condition.
Planning:
Utilize collected data to prioritize patient needs and develop an interdisciplinary plan of care in collaboration with healthcare team members and patients/families. Communicate the care plan effectively to all involved parties.
Implementation:
Execute the care plan and interventions to deliver quality care based on assessed needs and established standards. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members in the implementation of care. Demonstrate critical thinking and accountability in executing physician orders and managing emergencies.
Evaluation:
Continuously assess nursing practice against established standards and individual care plans. Involve patients and families in the evaluation process and maintain continuity of care through effective communication.
Documentation:
Ensure accurate and concise documentation of nursing processes, including treatment evaluations and collaborative care plans.
Leadership:
Manage care effectively through collaboration with others. Demonstrate time management and flexibility to meet unit needs. Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff and contribute to team development.
Professional Development:
Take responsibility for personal and professional growth while supporting the development of colleagues. Participate in unit meetings and seek opportunities for improvement. Maintain competency in nursing practice and fulfill educational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
License and Certification: Current Ohio RN License.
