Job Title: Psychologist Corrections Specialist

Body Fit Plus Inc is seeking a highly skilled Psychologist Corrections Specialist to join our team at a correctional facility in Corcoran, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Psychologist to provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Psychologist, Supervisor, and/or the chief of Mental Health to assess, diagnose, and manage the presenting symptomatology of inmates/wards.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history, to assess inmate's current needs and make treatment recommendations.
  • Meet with mentally ill inmates/wards for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, face-to-face interviews, etc.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice, including writing clinical reports and consulting with supervisor, treatment team members, and institutional healthcare personnel.
  • Monitor inmate progress using Subjective Assessment Plan Evaluation (SOAPE) FORMATTED PROGRESS NOTES and apply community standard of practice for the selection and effective implementation of psychological treatment modalities.
  • Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, board and care homes, etc. to develop supportive community relationships as assigned and approved by the supervisor.
  • Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards.
  • Assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
  • Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements.
Requirements:
  • Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in public or private institution. Clinical competencies must be current.
  • Valid Photo ID Driver's License or Passport (Required)
  • Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association
  • Valid California Psychologist license Hard Copy (Required)
