Job Overview

The Robotic Welder will be responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining robotic welding systems to produce high-quality welds on various metal components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate robotic welding machines to perform welds according to specified procedures and blueprints.
  • Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Adjust robotic welding parameters such as speed, voltage, and wire feed to achieve optimal results.
Programming and Setup
  • Program robotic welding systems to perform precise welds by inputting welding parameters and paths.
  • Set up and calibrate robotic equipment, including fixtures, sensors, and welding tools.
  • Test and verify welding programs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance on robotic welding systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with robotic welding equipment and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform repairs and upgrades as needed.
Quality Control
  • Inspect and measure welds using gauges, calipers, and other tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Document welding parameters, quality checks, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.
Safety and Compliance
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Comply with industry regulations and company policies related to welding and robotic operations.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to develop and refine welding processes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status, equipment issues, and quality concerns.
  • Provide training and support to other team members as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in robotic welding, including programming and operation; previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in robotic welding technology and programming; strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and safety practices; ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30-40 pounds; capability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods; manual dexterity to operate welding tools and equipment.
