Pharmacy Technician Role at Sarah Cannon Research Institute

At Sarah Cannon Research Institute, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our research pharmacists in all aspects of clinical trial drug management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review protocols and determine clinical and drug supply needs
  • Order corresponding supplies from approved vendors and sponsor organizations
  • Maintain drug logs and manage inventory to ensure adequate and accurate levels
  • Use IVRS systems for study drug assignment and receipt
  • Maintain temperature logs to ensure proper drug storage
  • Prepare, label, and package oral or intravenous investigational study agents with pharmacist supervision
  • Package sponsor-provided commercial study agents with pharmacist supervision
  • Assist pharmacists in documenting and maintaining master drug logs
  • Work with couriers to ensure timely delivery of study agents
  • Communicate with Oncology Research Consortium (ORC) network sites to confirm study agent receipt
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
  • Pharmacy Technician certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Organizational skills to manage daily activities effectively
  • Clear communication skills to interact with team members and industry sponsors
  • At least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • IV Admixture experience preferred
  • Chemotherapy Admixture experience preferred
