Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Division Dean, Health Professions to lead our Health Professions Division at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership in support of teaching excellence and student learning, with a focus on promoting instructional best practices through the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and antiracism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall operations of the Health Professions Division, providing leadership and supervision to faculty and staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the division, including curriculum development and program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote curriculum development in response to student, workforce, and community needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as district policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate programs, projects, and activities related to Health Professions, including budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Represent College of the Canyons in the community, fostering partnerships with local business and industry partners.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the division's curricular offerings and services.
  • Provide first-line administrative response in resolving complaints pertaining to division faculty, curricular, and co-curricular issues.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline reasonably related to the assignment.
  • Two years of academic administrative experience in an institution of higher education reasonably related to the assignment.
  • Ability to relate well and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and business and industry representatives of diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in applying technological applications to daily work.
  • Ability to lead, implement, and manage change.
  • Commitment to universal access for all populations.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Three years recent academic or professional experience in one of the professional areas in the discipline (Nursing, MLT, CLS, Phlebotomy, PTA, OTA, Pharmacy Technician, Diagnostic Medical Sonography).
  • One or more years of responsible experience in developing, implementing, and managing Health Professions programs in a college, university, or district post-secondary educational setting.
  • Demonstrated successful experience linking educational programs and services to the economic and workforce development needs of business and industry.
Working Conditions

This position requires sitting and viewing a computer monitor for extended periods of time, as well as frequent periods of standing and walking. The ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 20 pounds is also required.
