We embrace principles from The Twelve-Factor App methodology and have chosen modern, ergonomic programming languages that enhance productivity and readability, specifically modern JVM technologies such as Quarkus/Micronaut with Kotlin, alongside lightweight Go command tools. Our architecture is centered around event-driven microservices utilizing Kafka and Webhooks, with a diverse persistence strategy that includes Oracle, Postgres, and Cassandra.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software as part of a dynamic agile team, where your contributions can significantly impact the organization and its architecture.
- Work closely with the product team to ensure that incoming tasks are well-defined and understood by the engineering team.
- Guarantee that our infrastructure is extensible, scalable, reliable, and meets service level agreements for both external and internal users.
- Mentor junior engineers in their software development endeavors.
- Create a strong brand for our platform that includes outstanding APIs, a Developer Portal, tutorials, and SDKs.
- Ensure that our solutions are testable, user-friendly, and maintainable.
- Utilize cutting-edge tools for remote collaboration and enhance developer satisfaction, such as IntelliJ CodeWithMe and Tuple.
- Engage in design and code reviews for critical components and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience with backend reactive programming languages, specifically Java 17+ and/or Kotlin.
- Demonstrated success in developing lightweight reactive microservices using frameworks like Vert.x, Quarkus, Micronaut, or Spring Boot.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders and product owners to refine upcoming project requirements.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging systems, including Kafka, webhooks, and asynchronous API design.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience as an individual contributor within a cross-functional agile team.
- Background in FinTech is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to support mission-critical platforms with high availability and service continuity.
- Solid experience in cloud-based architecture and distributed systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express differing opinions constructively.
- Self-motivated and capable of navigating ambiguous environments throughout the innovation process.
- Commitment to learning and openness to exploring new approaches and experimentation.
- Value teamwork and prioritize the interests of the team over individual goals.
