As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Lead Pharmacy Technician for the IV Compounding Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications within our inpatient setting. This full-time position involves overseeing the daily operations of the IV Room, collaborating closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage the drug distribution system to guarantee patient-focused and cost-effective drug therapy.
- Provide technical support and guidance to pharmacy staff, enhancing their competencies and skills.
- Coordinate the scheduling and daily activities of the IV Room team, ensuring optimal workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and national certification (CPhT).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with at least 2 years in sterile IV compounding.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) preferred.
