Childcare Lead Teacher

Join the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids team as a Childcare Lead Teacher and play a vital role in shaping the minds of our youngest members. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters learning and growth.

• Plan and lead daily lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our infant, toddler, and preschool members.
• Organize and participate in games and activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Provide weekly lesson plans to parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and activities.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, arrival, and departure times, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
• Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Conduct annual parent-teacher conferences to discuss each child's progress and set goals for future development.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring a healthy and safe space for our members.

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Infant/Toddler CDA preferred, or proof of current enrollment in CDA or college-level Early Childhood Education program required.
• 6-12 months of childcare-related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with various software applications.
