Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Communication Disorders and a strong background in speech and language development. As a Speech Language Pathologist Substitute, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and instruct students in assigned schools
  • Act as a member of an evaluation team to assess, determine eligibility, and treat speech-language impairments
  • Implement SSD and/or Partner District's education philosophy and DEIA teaching and learning practices
  • Participate in training provided by the SSD DEIA team annually
  • Assess student strengths and weaknesses, collect and analyze data, and maintain accurate records
  • Develop and implement IEPs to meet the speech-language needs of students
  • Evaluate students suspected of a speech/language educational disability through response to intervention (RTI) and assessments
  • Employ various instructional and therapeutic techniques, interventions, and media as appropriate
  • Report progress to parents and meet with them regularly
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders
  • Missouri licensure in speech pathology or a DESE certificate
  • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence-Speech) preferred
  • Minimum of two years speech/language teaching experience in schools or other comparable settings
Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist Substitute will work in a fast-paced educational environment, interacting with students, teachers, and other support staff. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.

Salary and Benefits:

The hourly rate for this position is $36.00/hour. The Special School District of St. Louis County offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
