Industrial Maintenance Mechanics Instructor

We are seeking a qualified Industrial Maintenance Mechanics Instructor to join our team at West Hills Community College District. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating students in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes. The successful candidate will have a passion for educating a diverse student population and demonstrate the use of effective practices for engaging students with diverse learning needs, backgrounds, and academic goals.
Responsibilities- Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes.
- Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology to perform instructional and non-instructional duties.
- Teach courses consistent with the approved and adopted Course Outline of Record.
- Assess and evaluate class content, materials, and make changes to address gaps and areas of growth based on student needs.
- Champion collaborative practices in instruction that lead to an active student-centered environment and close equity and gender gaps.
- Work with counseling/advising and student services team to support and address student needs.
- Advise and assist students.
- Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience OR any associate's degree and six years of professional experience.
- Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Enrollment into CalSTRS retirement system or Apple retirement system.
- Sick Leave (24 hours of sick leave for the year; July through June).
