Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Wash Crew Member at Select Genetics. As a key member of our Logistics and Transportation department, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our delivery equipment sanitation program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with our supervisor and peers to build an effective team and achieve our sanitation goals.
  • Recognize and report any issues or problems with assignments to our supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all specified operational and safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Operate non-CDL vehicles and equipment within our yard, wash bay, and maintenance shop floor, following successful training and limited to company-owned property.
  • Learn and utilize our delivery schedule to prioritize washing responsibilities.
  • Perform hot water washout and rinse of poult and egg delivery equipment.
  • Conduct additional sanitation of poult and egg delivery equipment as required.
  • Monitor and maintain the serviceability of poult trailer filters and report deficiencies to our Shop Foreman.
  • Check and report on the proper installation and serviceability of trailer environmental data recording devices.
  • Conduct weekly inventories of required sanitation supplies and report product needs to our supervisor.
  • Perform daily serviceability inspections on sanitation equipment and report deficiencies to our supervisor.
  • Assist in implementing weekly diagnostic specimen collection and process specimens for transport to our diagnostic laboratory.
  • Perform other duties as needed, including drivers support, maintenance support, dispatch support, and poult delivery support.
  • Follow all company rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
  • Exhibit company values and successfully work with live animals.
  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Work extended hours as needed.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience with backyard poultry operations off-duty.
  • Experience with cleaning chemicals preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, grasp, push, and pull for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs short distances.
  • Valid driver's license required.
