Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality medical care to inmates in a correctional facility setting. As a Nurse I, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care, conducting medical assessments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to inmates, including administering medications, conducting medical assessments, and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Conduct medical assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account patient needs, medical history, and other relevant factors.
  • Administer medications, including injections, oral medications, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Document patient care and treatment plans in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Current, valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Correctional nursing experience, with a focus on providing care to inmates in a secure facility setting.
  • Charge Nurse and/or supervisory experience, with a focus on leading healthcare teams and ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Acute care or long-term nursing experience, with a focus on providing comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs.
