Job Summary:

The Adult Education Instructor will be responsible for developing and presenting lessons to adult students, evaluating student progress, and maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and present engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of adult students, aligned with the approved course of study.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student progress based on achievement of performance objectives and competencies, and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment, promoting punctuality and a culture of excellence.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Participate in the development and implementation of curriculum and instruction, and engage in ongoing professional development to improve instructional techniques.
  • Communication and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners, and promote community responsibility among students.
Requirements:
  • California Teaching Credential: Possession of a valid California teaching credential authorizing the teaching of the subject area.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in adult education or a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse populations, and strong organizational and time management skills.
