Crime Scene Specialist (COH)

Description

The Crime Scene Specialist is a vital member of our team, responsible for collecting and processing evidentiary items at crime scenes. This journey-level professional position requires the ability to utilize various chemical and physical development techniques to reveal friction ridge impressions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process evidentiary items at crime scenes
  • Identify, collect, preserve, and process physical evidence
  • Prepare reports and assist in criminal investigations
  • Testify in court as an expert witness
  • Provide training to less experienced staff and law enforcement personnel

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience equivalent to a Crime Scene Technician
  • Possession of an Associates degree in criminalistics/forensic science or a related field
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License and POST certified Basic Field Evidence Technician certificate

Working Conditions

The Crime Scene Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, often in variable indoor and outdoor conditions. This position requires the ability to wear a uniform and safety equipment, work evening, holidays, and weekends, and tolerate exposure to outdoor elements in all weather conditions.
