As a Patient Access Representative with Adventist Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate patient registration. Your responsibilities will include interviewing patients to gather all necessary account information, verifying insurance, and calculating patient liability amounts. You will also be responsible for obtaining necessary signatures, answering patient questions, and explaining policies clearly.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify patient insurance and calculate patient liability amounts
- Obtain necessary signatures from patients
- Answer patient questions and explain policies clearly
- Check for physician orders and attach them to patient records
- Print and collate paperwork for distribution to units/departments
- Escort patients to their areas or refer them to available escorts as needed
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Essential Functions:
- Check for physician orders and attach them to patient medical records
- Choose correct health plans and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance
- Enter all authorization information accurately as needed
- Follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff
